Giving a gift of vision - Shankara Eye Foundation

This blog has always been about me, my experiences, information on health, articles and festivals.Today I thought of contributing one post in my blog to a US based non-profit organization that works towards eliminating the curable blindness in India  Shankara Eye Foundation (SEF)
There is no fixed amount to contribute nor is there any contract. You can contribute as low as $5.

Mission : 'Vision 20/20 by year 2020' : http://www.giftofvision.org/
-Build/run eye hospitals all across India and thereby bring curable blindness under control
-Our goal is perform one million free eye surgeries a year
-For over 30 years Sankara Eye Care Institutions (SECI) has:
-Conducted an Eye Camp every weekend without missing a single weekend
-Reached out to a population of more than 15 Million people Performed FREE eye surgeries every year.
-The projected numbers are 100,000 FREE eye surgeries a year ( in 2008)
-Worked hard on Prevention and Education of Curable Blindness
-Been acknowledged as one of the largest rural out-reach programs in India

This reminds me of an inspiring song, where all the blind artists perform a stage show and show their pain.

Service to mankind is service to god...!!! Some need love-some need money as charity!!!!
Extending one Hand to help somebody has more value..., Rather than joining two hands for prayers.
Again this is not to commercialize, its only an information to spread a word about SEF.
